Bank Holiday Fun!

Here at Pink Gorilla Hairy Lemon, we love
everything about Bank Holiday Weekends . The heated anticipation and buzzing
atmosphere that surrounds them is electrifying; even more so now that Leeds has
evolved into a cosmopolitan metropolis and we are spoiled for choice with what
to do!

On the eve of this second May Bank Holiday weekend,
we were delighted to host the launch of Leeds Food and Drink festival. The two
week calendar of events of Leeds Food and Drink Festival is better than ever
with Foodie events such as Leeds Feast, Handmade Yorkshire and Thai Cooking
School to name but a few. The launch party was held at the stylish Epernay
champagne bar in Leeds’
Electric press. Epernay’s glamorous terrace area was the perfect venue to host one of Leeds’  most hotly anticipated events of the year and we were treated to
some of their finest cocktails, including a deliciously fruity bramble that was
absolutely superb. Red Bull were also there to celebrate the launch of Leeds
Food and Drink festival and marked the occasion by debuting two new flavours;
Red Bull Cranberry and Tropical - both set to be sure fire hits this summer. We
were also treated to Leeds’
best burgers as Almost Famous provided the nibbles for
the evening. We use the term nibbles loosely, as although these burgers were
slider-sized, they most definitely served up a full portion of flavour! Almost
Famous have honoured Leeds Food and Drink festival’s 10th anniversary with a commemorative burger; the Leodensian,
which will be available throughout the festival dates of May 22nd - 7th June
and contains a double cheeseburger, bacon, Yorkshire crisps, shoestring onions,
relish, blue cheese dressing and is topped off with a Wensleydale cheese ball.
Ere by gum!

Another great event during Leeds Food and Drink
Festival over the Bank Holiday Weekend was Grapeful, which we have been
promoting over the last six weeks. Grapeful was Leeds’ first pop up wine festival and took place
on Saturday May 23rd. We’ve
been working hard to get as much press coverage as possible and were on Radio
Leeds last weekend for Cake O’Clock
with Larry and Paul, where Grapeful’s
organisers had to take in their own cake to mark the occasion. Radio Leeds also
did a live broadcast from the festival, which was a huge hit with all those who
came.

One of our most anticipated events is the Leeds
Loves Cocktails week beginning 1st June and we have been very busy promoting
this one! With 40 participating bars including a pop-up in Leeds Trinity and an exciting line-up of masterclasses
and events, the Leeds Loves Cocktails week is sure to go off with a bang in its
third year. Larry and Paul from BBC Radio Leeds even had us back on this weekends show to chat about what will be going on during Leeds Loves Cocktails week. Did you hear us?!
